SOAR Scholarship in Administrative Law 2020
THE SOAR SCHOLARSHIP
Applications are invited for the annual SOAR academic scholarship.
The Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators is an independent, non-profit, non-partisan association of Chairs, members, management and staff of the province’s administrative boards, agencies and tribunals. SOAR’s mission is to advance administrative justice through education, advocacy and innovation.
To promote interest in and recognize dedication to the principles of administrative law, SOAR will award one $3,000 scholarship to an upper level (L2 or L3) student enrolled in an Ontario law school who

Professional Development
SOAR is working hard to adapt our programs, including roundtables, workshops and the SOAR/Osgoode PD effective decision writing course, to be delivered remotely. To ensure the health and safety of everyone concerned, we have postponed in-person training programs for the month of April. Updates will be posted on our website for programming scheduled to take place in May and June

Amended Ontario Agencies and Appointments Directive, November 1, 2019
The Ontario government has passed a new Agencies and Appointments Directive, effective November 1, 2019. It replaces the June 2017 version. Find the full Directive here https://www.ontario.ca/page/agencies-and-appointments-directive
The Directive sets out the rules and accountability framework for provincial agencies, short-term advisory bodies and special advisors, as well as the remuneration guidance for government appointments.
