Prosecutions Clerk
The Law Clerk performs various legal and file management tasks to support efficient Discipline and Fitness to Practise prosecutions. This role requires routinely interacting with lawyers, witnesses and stakeholders in a professional manner.
Qualifications
- Law Clerk Certificate/Diploma
- Member of the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO)
- 2-4 years of experience practising as a law clerk
- Knowledge of and/or experience working with a self-regulatory body (regulated health profession preferred)
- Superior organizational, prioritization, and document management skills
- Excellent oral communication and legal drafting skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a legal team
Key Accountabilities
- Maintains accurate and organized electronic records.
- Prepares initial and ongoing disclosure.
- Prepares charts, chronologies and summaries of documentary evidence.
- Attends and/or provides support during pre-hearings, case management conferences and hearings.
- Attends and/or provides support during witness interviews.
- Conducts legal research
Hiring Range: $84,488 - $87,981
Full Salary Range: $84,488 - $101,385
