Are you inspired by a future where all members of the early childhood education profession accept responsibility for practice excellence? Can you envision the possibilities for early childhood education and its regulatory environment? Are you a collaborative and tenacious leader who is adept in a complex economic, social and political context? Do you have a track record of success fostering employee commitment, exercising sound judgment and showing consistency between values and your behavior? If this sounds like you, your next career opportunity may be at the College of Early Childhood Educators.
The College of Early Childhood Educators regulates the early childhood education profession in the public interest by ensuring Ontario’s early childhood educators meet requirements set out in the Early Childhood Educators Act, 2007. Since registration began in September 2008, the College has issued over 53,000 certificates of registration and grown to a staff of 51 and an annual budget in the range of $7 million.
The Registrar and CEO position consists of three distinct roles: regulatory obligations embedded in the legislation, administration of College operations and secretariat to the Council, providing governance and strategic planning support. Foremost among the challenges for the new Registrar and CEO will be continuing the growth and development of the College along with its capacities and membership within an evolving political, professional and regulatory environment.
