The Office of the Integrity Commissioner

The Office of the Integrity Commissioner is seeking a junior lawyer to assist General Counsel in providing legal advice and support services to the Integrity Commissioner and staff of the Office in relation to all aspects of the Commissioner’s jurisdiction, which includes: MPP Integrity, Lobbyists Registration, Expenses Review, Ministers’ Staff Ethical Conduct and Political Activity, and Disclosure of Wrongdoing.

In this unique and challenging opportunity, you will provide case specific legal advice, especially in relation to the conduct of investigations. This includes advising on jurisdictional, evidentiary and procedural fairness issues and assisting with the development and execution of investigation plans.

In addition, you will conduct legal research and prepare corresponding memoranda with recommendations. You will assist in keeping abreast of legal developments relevant to the Integrity Commissioner’s mandates.

You are a strong communicator, able to work collaboratively in a team environment and are receptive to feedback. You are inquisitive, comfortable taking initiative and have an abiding interest in provincial current affairs. Your attention to detail will contribute to your success in this position.

To be considered for the position, you will have an LL.B. and be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada. You will have 2-3 years of experience practicing administrative law, litigation or criminal/quasi-criminal law. Experience with investigations and witness examinations will be considered an asset.

Salary Range Minimum:  $76,941 per annum
