About the Opportunity

The Safety, Licensing Appeals and Standards Tribunals Ontario (SLASTO), and the Environment and Land Tribunals of Ontario (ELTO), two clusters of independent adjudicative tribunals accountable through the Ministry of the Attorney General, seek a dynamic and experienced leader to support the operations and on-going transformation of the sector. The predominant area of focus for the successful candidate is expected to be on SLASTO work. 

Reporting to the Executive Lead for the two clusters, you will:

  • Lead a management team supporting the work of the clusters to resolve and decide matters related to multiple statutes relating to public protection and safety, and environment and land issues pertaining to the ten constituent SLASTO and ELTO tribunals. 

  • Provide strategic advice to the Executive Chairs of the clusters to achieve the relevant Business Plan commitments, including key initiatives related to organizational transformation, establishing integrated professional development for Members and staff, and achieving co-location with the other MAG tribunals by 2017.

  • Advance SLASTO’s work in collaboration with MAG and the Ministry of Finance to establish a Dispute Resolution System for automobile insurance claims at LAT.

  • Support cross-cluster initiatives to improve operational efficiencies and promote quality outcomes for clients accessing administrative justice in Ontario.

  • Experience leading and supporting program transformation

  • Project management experience.
